Highway Safety Information System Leadership Workshop (HSIS)
This workshop gives highway safety leaders information to them exert leadership roles in the development or improvement of their State's system for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating traffic records and other safety information. During this workshop, participants will learn to:
- Understand the current highway safety requirements and how data supports them.
- Understand why they must take the leadership role.
- Define and understand the Highway Safety Information System.
- Understand the application of the State-specific HSIS to the highway safety program.
- Understand how their State system compares to the HSIS model.
- Understand what steps they should take next.
- Understand where to find help.

- Resources and Direction
Who should attend?
Governor's Highway Safety Representatives, Coordinators, senior staff, and members of the State's Traffic Records Coordinating Committee who have responsibility for determining the scope and collaboration for developing or improving the State's HSIS to support decision-making processes leading to reductions in deaths, injuries, injury severity, and cost.
