Deployment Program Classes
FMCSA provides Commercial Vehicle Information Systems (CVISN) training and guidance on the planning and deployment of CVISN for State and Federal personnel involved with planning, implementing, managing, or deploying CVISN.
The CVISN Web site includes:
- Documentation and other technical and program management guides to help States plan and deploy elements of their CVISN program. These include:
- An overview of CVISN Workshops on the Scope, Planning, Design, and Implementation of CVISN and related materials
- Operational guides providing program information
The CVISN deployment program classes are taught through materials provided on line. Additional State support is available by request, and reviewed and assigned on a case-by-case basis.
Information on additional classes is available from the Consortium for ITS Training and Education. These instructor-led, Web-based courses are available for a fee. They include the Introduction to ITS/CVO and CVISN (CVISN 101), and Advanced CVISN (CVISN 102). A tutorial introduction to CVISN and summaries of these courses can be found at http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/facts-research/cvisn/training.htm. For more details on these two courses, go to http://www.citeconsortium.org/ and click on "Courses" on the left menu bar.
